Alice in Wonderland Jewellery

It's been over a week since my sushi making sweetie set and I've finally found some time to upload some of my new designs onto the website! The Alice in Wonderland inspired range was well received at the MCM Expo back in October and I've desperately wanted to put them onto the site but work has been mad so I've not been able to do so until now.

The Alice in Wonderland range is as its name suggests a line of new designs with cupcakes and cookies with details inspired by the classic story. I've designed some cupcake necklaces with the White Rabbit and 'I'm late!' clock. I also made a few that are with the playing cards.

The cookies are decorated with either pastel pink or green clay that looks like icing! The message 'Eat Me' was hand written and just like my other designs the cookies are handmade by me! Size of the cookies are similar to proper cookies and they look just like the real thing!

The amazing DIY sushi candy set !

The box and its contents
Water is added to the sweet powder to form a paste

Squeezing the spaghetti out of the piper bag

Voila!

For Valentine's day this year I received a cute little sweetie set instead of the conventional chocolates, I really can't believe I've waited this long to open it though!
My boyfriend had bought it from Cybercandy along with some other really cute biscuits and sweeties!

The box along is sweet enough to eat! It's so colourful and it also has all the instructions on the back of the box. The set is for making a set lunch of rice balls, spaghetti and mushroom etc but all made from sweet powders!
Each piece of 'food' is made from different sachets of powder which smells incredibly sweet. They are all colour coded so it's not a problem even though I cannot ready the Japanese text!

I had so much fun making it for roughly 30 minutes but only took me a minute or two to eat the whole thing! lol! I've taking some photos to illustrate the steps it took to be completed!

Expo again!

It's been a long time since I last wrote, reason being I was busy with a charity cake sale and preparing for Expo which happened last weekend. It was as usual a fun filled weekend with new games, movies and cosplay! The array of costumes were so impressive, they must have spent hours to produce each of those outfits!

My new designs which were inspired by Alice in Wonderland were completed end of last week. The range includes mini teacups with hot chocolate and cream, rabbit cupcakes with pretty bows, 'Eat Me' cookies and 'Drink Me' glitter bottles. These pendants are all presented as necklaces apart from a rabbit and cream ring. I have still to upload these new designs onto my website, I wanted to see what the reaction was at Expo first and it was definitely much better than I had anticipated! All the girls (a few guys as well!) seemed to love my new designs and they gave me loads of praise and encouragement! The most popular were the teacups and the rabbit cupcakes!

The down side to having the Expo on the same weekend as Halloween is that there was no chance for some sleep after the party on Saturday. We chose to dress up as zombie school children with matching skirts, ties etc. It's been a while since I've done fancy dress and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it! I just loved the way people stare at you and then later realise that it's Halloween!

Lovely Rilakkuma Stamps Set!

Just received this cute little set of Rilakkuma stamps set from my mum!! It's really petite but I just love the French inspired designs with the blue, red and white colour scheme, luggages and the french stick bread! I'm gonna decorate all my paperwork with these cute little Rilakkumas! Such a nice addition to my Rilakkuma collection :D

New Products for the Summer!

It feels great to have at last added some new products onto the site, it has taken me a long time but better late than never! Some of these products were sold at the MCM Expo and also at the Comic Con, the feedback I got from customers were really good so I thought I'd try and upload these ones first! I think my favourite design from the new range has got to be the gingerbread houses! I think they go pretty well with the gingerbread men!

A few years ago I went to Tokyo every 2 years for around 6 years, its sad that I have not been there for 3 years now and it's even more upsetting to see my mother going without me :( I'm seriously hoping she'll get me something nice during her trip :) Being stuck here with not-so-nice weather and silly looters in London probably were definitely not part of my plan for the Summer!

Work has already begun on a new range of jewellery that I'm testing out, hopefully they'll be ready for unveiling soon! I'm so excited already and I'm tempted to just show the new designs right here right now! But then again, it's also nice to have the anticipation... hehe... All will be revealed soon I promise! xx

My favourite choccies!

The weather was so nice over the weekend, shame about it being a bit wet this morning! Had a busy day at work, then went to the gym for the first time in a year and nothing beats coming home to a sushi dinner! The best thing though is a bag of my favourite peanut butter M&M's!!!! Thanks to my friend who got it for me from (i think) Cyber Candy! I really think supermarkets should start stocking this amazing tasting chocolate! The chocolate just goes perfectly with the peanut butter! Well, I think I've done pretty well in actually taking a picture before emptying the whole pack!

Since the weather has been so warm, I've had new ideas for my line of jewellery. There is nothing better than a serving of ice-cream in this heat! And yes, I have ice-cream sundaes in my designs already but I do have a new idea for it which I will try later in the week. Will see how it goes and updates will be posted! So excited already! :D x

Getting Ready for Comic Con!!

Link

The Comic Con will be held at Earl's Court this weekend and I'm frantically trying to make more jewellery in preparation for the show! No matter how many times I've told myself to start preparing early and get everything sorted out beforehand it never seems to go according to plan...

At the MCM Expo in May lots of people said they would like to see more small pieces of jewellery like rings and necklaces but with smaller pendants, I have therefore made some slices of cakes on silver chains. I'm really hoping people will like the small cakes and also the gingerbread men I made last night. These cute little gingerbread men were first trialled at the MCM Expo back in October 2010 and they went down a storm! They also proved to be extremely popular on my website so I've decided to make loads more for this weekend!

Post holiday depression...

Last Saturday was the LED festival in Victoria Park, London. The event was absolutely amazing apart from having to queue an hour for the bar! The set by Deadmau5 was immense and it took me 2 days to recover from the epic night which was followed by more drinks down Bricklane!! Here's a photo of me and a wannabe Mau5 Man :pIt's been nearly a week since I've been back from my 3 weeks holiday and needless to say I'm still struggling to fit back into my usual routine of daily commute and work... Wouldn't it be wonderful if I could just stay at home everyday and just make jewellery?

My holiday was fun and it was just so relaxing but no rest for the wicked, I've just booked a table for the Comic Con on 9-10th July at Earl's Court! This will be my first Comic Con and I'm really hoping its gonna be lots of fun! For more info please check out their website http://www.londonfilmandcomiccon.com/

Scrumptious Chocolate Cakes

We were blessed with lovely weather over the Easter and Royal Wedding bank holiday weekends, I wish the sun will just continue to shine for the Summer months to come! As well as days of barbecues and chilling under the sun, it was also time (again!) for me to get my jewellery ready for the MCM Expo on May 28th and 29th at the Excel Centre! http://www.londonexpo.com/ This event is always packed with the latest games, comics and manga and I'm devastated to be missing it once again! I am keeping my fingers crossed that none of my close friends will be getting married over the May bank holiday weekend next year. This is already the second May Expo I have had to miss!

Following the success of the few chocolate cake rings I made for the Expo in October 2010, I thought I would make more this time round and also include necklaces as well. This batch of chocolate cakes with cherry and a lashing of chocolate sauce took me days to make! I've taken photos of the making of these yummy looking cakes to illustrate the process. Enjoy!

Expo!

Its 2011!! One of my new year's resolution was to try and be a bit more proactive and work on my website and blog a bit more but similar to other things on my list, I've not really had a chance to do them until today! Well, better late than never!

To follow up from my previous post on the preparation for MCM Expo, the event was a huge success once again! It was great to see so many people I'd met at the previous events and the feedback on some of my new designs were also encouraging! I guess the hard work leading up to that weekend had paid off.
Some amazing outfits at the Expo this time and I have included some photos here. Many thanks to Lisa Pegg who kindly sent me some of her photos of the event as well!

I know I've said this a million times but I'm going to update my website as well. There really isn't any point in having a website when 90% of the stuff are sold out! Some new photos and products will be added to the site in the next few weeks!
